The Museo Botero (Botero Museum) is a must-see for any art lover. Colombia’s most famous artist, Fernando Botero, was a Medellín native who rose to fame through his distinctly voluminous sculptures and paintings. This style came to be known as “Boterismo.” The Botero Museum is located in a renovated colonial mansion in the historic neighborhood of La Candeleria. Hundreds of donated pieces adorn the walls and the political and social commentary is balanced beautifully with Botero’s playful style.
